The Large Classical Egyptian Sphinx Bronze Sculpture stands 180cm in length, presenting a recumbent lion-bodied form with a composed human head, pharaonic nemes headdress, and a uraeus cobra at the crown. The chest panel carries carved hieroglyphic cartouches including a scarab motif, rendered with the deliberate, ceremonial weight of ancient Egyptian monumental art.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this large bronze sphinx sculpture carries a smooth dark patina ranging from deep black-brown to rich bronze at the raised relief details. Each surface is hand-finished to preserve the carved cartouche work and the precise musculature of the extended forepaws, ensuring no two casts are identical in their tonal character. The hand-patinated bronze finish develops further with outdoor exposure, deepening the contrast between the hieroglyphic panels and the body planes.
At 180cm and 2,000kg, this piece commands a grand entrance hall, a formal estate courtyard, an institutional atrium, or a landscaped garden axis. Its dark bronze tones sit naturally against pale stone, aged brick, and clipped hedging. The scale and gravitas of the composition make it equally suited to symmetrical flanking arrangements as to a solitary focal point at the end of a formal vista.
We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the standard dark black-brown, including aged verde, warm honey bronze, and polished natural bronze. The piece can be scaled up or down for specific architectural requirements. For clients wishing to commission a bespoke version inspired by the work of a particular historical or contemporary sculptor, please contact us before ordering to discuss specifications.
