Large Classical Cupid and Psyche Bronze Sculpture by Giant Sculptures, winged Cupid embracing reclining Psyche in warm brown patina on a black granite base.
Large Classical Cupid and Psyche Bronze Sculpture - 150cm $24,82100
Description

The Large Classical Cupid and Psyche Bronze Sculpture stands 150cm tall, presenting two intertwined figures locked in one of antiquity's most celebrated embraces: a winged Cupid leaning down toward a reclining, semi-draped Psyche, arms wound around each other in a composition that rises on a sweeping diagonal before resolving in the arc of broad feathered wings.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This piece is cast in solid bronze using the traditional lost-wax method, a process that preserves every nuance of surface modelling, from the soft drape of fabric across Psyche's lower form to the individual feather striations on Cupid's wings. The finish is a warm, rich brown patina with subtle mid-tone variation across the figures, lending depth and visual movement as light shifts across the rounded surfaces. A polished dark granite circular base anchors the composition, its cool black ground throwing the warm bronze tones into sharp contrast and providing a stable platform for the dynamic upward energy of the piece.

At 150cm and 100kg, this is a statement work suited to grand entrance halls, formal reception rooms, private galleries, covered terraces, and sheltered courtyard settings. The warm bronze palette sits comfortably against stone, marble, dark timber, and neutral plaster finishes. The circular base requires no additional plinth for interior placement, though a low raised plinth will lift the figures to optimal viewing height in larger rooms or open exterior spaces.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

The patina can be specified at order stage: options include the warm brown shown, a cooler verde antique green, a deep near-black finish, or a lighter golden bronze tone. The composition is also available at alternative scales for collectors who need a smaller or larger format. This subject draws on a tradition of figurative embracing groups that includes, among others, work inspired by the work of Antonio Canova; if you are considering a bespoke version or have a specific setting in mind, contact us before ordering so we can advise on scale and finish.
