The Classical Bronze Cherub Urn Planter Sculpture stands 130cm tall: a monumental krater-form vessel whose every surface is alive with craftsmanship. Two arching figural handles in the form of putti flank the rim, their bodies curving upward in fluid serpentine lines, while a continuous bas-relief frieze of classical figures in motion encircles the body of the urn below a band of finely moulded leaf decoration.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax method, allowing the deep undercutting of the bas-relief frieze and the fine anatomical detail of the putti handles to be fully realised in solid bronze. The surface carries a heavily patinated verdigris finish, with dense green tones across the exposed planes and near-black pooling in the recessed relief work, producing precisely the layered depth that develops on classical bronzes over centuries. Each cast is hand-chased and finished individually, meaning no two pieces are identical in their final patination.
The urn sits on its own integrated circular pedestal foot and is accompanied by a stepped square plinth base, completing the formal silhouette. At 100kg, this is a piece of genuine architectural weight: suited to grand formal gardens, stone-terraced courtyards, broad entrance halls with stone or marble flooring, or heritage properties where the scale and gravitas of the piece will be matched by its setting. The verdigris finish reads beautifully against clipped yew, pale limestone, and aged brick alike.
Patina options include the standard verdigris shown, a warm mid-brown museum patina, a darker near-black antique finish, or a natural polished bronze. The urn can be scaled up for larger terrace or courtyard installations, and bespoke planting inserts can be specified. If you are considering this piece for a specific site or wish to discuss a commission inspired by the work of a particular classical tradition, contact us before ordering and we will guide you through the options.
