Yellow Timber Trumpet Top Clear Teardrop Side Table - 45cm by Giant Sculptures, with a round yellow top on a tapered stem set into a clear resin teardrop base, shown on a plain white background.
Yellow Timber Trumpet Top Clear Teardrop Side Table - 45cm $3,37500
Description

In this timber and cast resin side table a bright yellow timber trumpet, a shallow round top on a tapering stem, sinks into a clear resin teardrop, and the cone looks held inside the drop rather than set upon it. The teardrop is the whole of the base and there is no foot beneath it.

A Timber Cone Sunk Into a Clear Drop

The teardrop is cast solid, ground back to its curve and taken up through the grades to a mirror, and the stem of the top is set into it before the material closes over, so nothing shows at the meeting. The timber cone is turned from one piece and finished to a satin, not a gloss: a mirror on the top would repeat in the drop below it and the two forms would run together. The grain is left to read as it came, and no two tops carry the same figure. The underside of the cone is finished to the same grade as its face, since a table at this height is looked up into from the chair beside it.

At 45cm this stands at seat height beside a chair and will take a lamp or a drink, and the timber top hides marks that a clear one would show. The teardrop needs light passing through it to be read: put it against a dark wall and it reduces to an outline, which costs the piece half its interest. It is heavy at the base, which makes it steady but awkward to shift once it is placed.

The Timber, the Drop, and the Other Tops

Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. The timber trumpet sets the pace here. At order, three things are open. The timber is chosen from what is in stock at order, the cone is offered in a painted finish instead, and the teardrop can be tinted. Order it to your own top diameter and overall height. Put the whole order in at once and the grain of the timber cone carries across every piece. The timber cone lip and the base tip go in boxed clear of every face, and the crate is built round the drop rather than round the top. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Bright yellow timber plunging into a teardrop of clear resin earns this side table its listing in our art furniture; the teardrop's swell suits our organic sculptures, and its glassy body our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
