Yellow Inclusion Cleft Trunk Cast Resin Sculpture - 100cm, a clear textured split-trunk column with yellow pockets throughout, on a plain white background.
Yellow Inclusion Cleft Trunk Cast Resin Sculpture - 100cm $4,11700
Description

This resin sculpture is a column cast as a split trunk and textured all over, with bright yellow caught in seams and pockets right through its clear body, so the colour seems held inside the wood rather than painted on it. The top is cut flat and the cleft runs most of the height.

Yellow Caught Through a Split Trunk

The yellow is introduced in pockets while the clear body is still live, so it spreads into the seams of the texture and sets where it lands rather than being placed in a pattern - no two columns carry it in the same places. The texture is modelled over the whole form and the cleft is opened in the mould, so both inner faces are worked like the outside. Holding the two halves true through the cure is the difficult part at this height. The cut top is taken flat across both halves together and polished, and the foot is faced so the column stands without packing.

At 100cm this stands on the floor in a hall, a corner or beside a run of seating, and the yellow needs light through the body to be seen at all - against a dark wall it goes out and the column reads as a grey mass. It belongs where light reaches it from the side. It stands on a small area of floor and wants that floor hard and level, not carpeted.

The Yellow, the Cleft, and How It Travels

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. Most of it is the yellow inclusion. Three points are open. The yellow is replaced with another colour or left out, the cleft is opened wider, and the texture is worked finer. The column height and the plan depth are open figures. Ordered as a group, the columns are worked to one height and one cleft, and the yellow is left to fall where it will on each. The packing is shaped to the column tip and the yellow inclusions, and moving it is a two-person job. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Yellow caught in the seams of a split trunk places this column with our abstract sculptures; the trunk suits our organic sculptures, its clear body our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
