This acrylic stool stands on four legs cast as lengths of bamboo, their translucent yellow fading out to near clearness at the feet, with stretchers between them set at two levels. The seat is a run of parallel canes in a translucent smoke grey. Nodes and cut ends are modelled throughout, so the bamboo is read in the round and not as a pattern pressed into a flat surface.
Each leg is modelled as a length of bamboo with its own nodes and its own cut end, and the four are not repeats of one another. The colour is graded down the leg while the material is live, so the yellow gives out towards the foot rather than stopping at a line. The stretchers meet the legs at two levels and every one of those joints is cast rather than made and fitted, which is the hard part: a joint in translucent acrylic reads as a grey shadow inside the material. The seat canes are worked separately and levelled together, and every surface is polished, the inside faces of the stretchers included.
It is a low stool for a bedroom or a dressing area, taking a sitter or serving as a surface beside a chair. The graded legs need light through them to read, so a window or a lamp near it does more than a downlight. The smoke grey seat sits against the yellow rather than matching it, which suits a plain floor better than a patterned one.
Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The cane frame is the slow part. There are three decisions. The yellow can be taken to any tint, and the seat canes can be run in the same colour as the legs instead of contrasting with them. The frame width and the cane height are whatever you specify. Send one order for the group and the placing of the nodes stays even across it. The packing is shaped to the cane ends and the two stretcher levels, and moving it is a two-person job. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Bamboo modelled in yellow and smoke acrylic gives our art furniture a low stool; the canes suit our organic sculptures, the material our acrylic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
