Yellow Amber Cut Sphere on Marble Resin Sculpture - 66cm
Yellow Amber Cut Sphere on Marble Resin Sculpture - 66cm $3,10400
Description

This ball of yellow amber resin has been cut into two scoops that wind past each other and meet along one curved wall. The colour runs from a clear lemon yellow across the thin open faces to a deep honey where the resin is thickest, so the rims read darker than the hollows. A short amber stem carries it over a squared black marble block, included in the price.

Yellow Amber Turning Into Two Scoops

Each hollow is cut to pass behind the other, and the wall left between them is the only thing holding the form together. In a yellow this bright the change of thickness becomes the drawing: the thin faces of the scoops glow almost white-gold, while the rims and the stem gather the deeper honey tone. Every surface is polished, inside the hollows as well as out, so light entering one scoop is carried round through the resin and out of the other. The block beneath is cut square and left plain, so nothing competes with the colour above it.

Standing 66cm with its marble, it fits a deep sideboard or the end of a long dresser, where it can be seen from in front and from a little to either side. Yellow amber warms a cool grey or white room, and it is at its brightest with daylight or a lamp behind it, which fills the hollows. Against dark panelling the rims stand out first and the glow follows.

The Yellow, the Scoops and Delivery

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. The yellow can be taken toward a pale lemon or deepened to a full honey, and the scoops cut further round for a deeper turn, which brings more light into the middle of the ball. A block in another stone, or a deeper block to lift the ball, is made to order. The ball travels in its own fitted case with the marble packed beside it, and it is lifted with two hands around its outer curve, never by the opening. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A ball cut into two winding scoops belongs with our organic sculptures; yellow amber that deepens to honey leads to our resin sculptures, and a lemon-bright ball above a dresser joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
