Description

A winged figure stands within a shallow architectural recess, gable overhead, holding a plain tablet raised above the shoulder. The aedicule rises from a moulded plinth cut from the same block, with a broad inscription band carved across its face.

Memorial Plaque With a Figure Set Inside a Pedimented Aedicule

The relief is moderate rather than deep, which is right for a piece meant to be read from a distance in the open air. The stone is a cool white and has taken a grey patina into its recesses, the settled tone that marble reaches outdoors and which many buyers specifically ask for.

A memorial plaque is read from the front and approached head-on, so it suits a churchyard wall, a memorial garden, a cloister, a chapel or a remembrance walk. It is carved on the front face only, so it wants solid masonry behind it rather than an open aspect, and clear space either side so the aedicule reads whole.

Choosing the Wording and Fixing the Panel

Eight weeks including the lettering. Both the tablet and the inscription band are cut to your own wording in a lettering style you choose, and either can be supplied blank for a local mason to letter later. The figure and the gable are carved as standard; the plinth mouldings can be simplified. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops. Around 786kg, crated upright, and the fixing is set out with you once the position has been agreed.

Production Time

Every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of destination.

  • Sculptures under 50cm — shipped by air freight. Typical delivery 1–2 weeks after production is complete.
  • Sculptures 50cm and above — shipped by sea freight. Typical delivery 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

For larger sculptures where faster delivery is needed, air freight is available at additional cost — contact us before ordering for a quote.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

30-Day Returns

We accept 30-day returns on sculptures in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

To start a return, contact us within 30 days of receipt. Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is at the customer's cost.

Bespoke and custom-commissioned pieces are non-refundable once production has started, as they are made specifically to your specification.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
