Wide Blue Combed Wave Sheet Resin Sculpture, 78cm, blue fading to clear with fine ridged lines, mounted on a black metal stand against a plain white background.
Wide Blue Combed Wave Sheet Resin Sculpture - 78cm $2,30600
Description

A wide sheet combed into fine parallel lines, lifted into one ridge in the middle with a dip falling away on each side and the two ends turning up again beyond them. Blue sits through the middle of the sheet and runs out to colourless at both ends, and the comb lines follow every turn of the curve. The sheet is carried on a black metal stand that is supplied with it as part of the piece: two slim posts rising from a long, flat plate, one of them ending in a small curved fork that cradles the edge of the sheet.

One Combed Ridge Between Two Dips

The single ridge between the two dips is what gives a sheet this wide its shape, and the combing follows the curve rather than the other way round, so every line rises over the ridge and falls into the dips with it. The colour is set to the same plan: blue gathers through the middle, where the ridge stands, and fades away toward either end, so the form reads as a crest with clear water to either side. Resin is what lets a sheet this wide stay shallow through its thickness and keep the comb lines crisp across it. Fine combing across the whole face is the finish, and it catches light along every line at once.

This wants the length of a console and nothing else on it. Nothing should sit behind it at all. The sheet is read through, and a busy wall arrives inside it. Light from behind is what this is for: the comb lines turn into a field of bright threads. It carries as a wide blue ridge, and the combing does not read until you are within a pace of it.

Widths, Line Spacing and Delivery

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The comb lines are drawn finer, the blue is moved toward green, and the sheet is made at other widths. Change the width and the ridge moves with it, because the curve is set by where the sheet ends. Sheet and stand travel in a single crate with the comb lines padded, and the piece is lifted by the stand's plate, never by the turned-up ends of the sheet. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A combed blue wave sheet that clears to colourless at both ends rides alongside our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
