White Plume & Acrylic Filament Resin Sculpture, 84cm, curling white form with trailing filaments on a black base, set against a plain light background.
White Plume & Acrylic Filament Resin Sculpture - 84cm $3,10300
Description

A white plume curls over on itself and trails a spray of fine acrylic filaments out behind it, held clear of its base on two slender black rods. It rises to a tall, horn-like point and sweeps down into a tight scroll at its foot, and it is combed into fine parallel lines along its whole length, so the filaments read as a continuation of the body rather than as something added to it. The base is a black marble block, and the two rods rise from it a hand's width apart.

Two Rods, and Everything Standing Above Them

Lifting a piece off its base changes what the base is for. Set down solid, a plume like this would sit heavily on its footprint; raised on two rods, it seems to hover, and the black block below becomes a stage for the air beneath it as much as for the plume. The rods are kept slender and dark so that they almost disappear against the block, and they rise straight and parallel, which gives the curling, sweeping form above them one steady vertical to play against. Above them the plume is frosted to a soft white, its fine grooves running with the movement from the scroll at the foot to the point at the top.

At 84cm on its rods and block it is well placed on a broad cabinet, a sideboard or a console, with the point of the plume rising to about eye level for anyone standing nearby. The filaments spray out well behind the plume, so it wants clear air at its back rather than a wall pressed close, and a corner or a landing away from passing traffic keeps them out of reach of anyone brushing by. A plain, pale ground behind it lets the fine strands read as a halo; against busy shelving they disappear.

Filament Count, Rod Length and Delivery

Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The filament count is set at order, the plume can be cast in a pale blue instead of white, and the rods are made in other lengths, so more or less air shows beneath it. The filaments can be trimmed short for a tighter silhouette or run out further where there is room behind it, and the marble block can be had in white instead of this black. It travels in two crates, the base and rods in one and the plume in a case built round it with the filaments sleeved, and the plume goes onto its rods once both crates are open. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A frosted white plume raised on two rods, its fine acrylic filaments trailing behind, leads into our acrylic sculptures, our organic sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
