Description

This carved acrylic side table has a disc top dished across its face and thickening towards a plain edge, set on a straight column that rounds over at its shoulder. A band of fine rings is cut round the column a little below its middle, close together and evenly spaced. The acrylic is marbled: broad soft drifts of opaque white move through otherwise clear material, and because the column is a solid mass those drifts read as depth rather than as surface pattern.

Marbling Carried Through Carved Acrylic

The marbling is in the material rather than on it, and the form is shaped to show that. The column is a solid mass, and looking into it the broad drifts of opaque white are seen at different depths, which reads as internal weather rather than as a surface pattern; a hollow column would lose that entirely. Its band of fine rings, close together and even, is the only crisp detail on an otherwise soft object. The top is dished across its face and thickens towards a plain edge, so the white drifts through it are thin and pale in the middle and gather at the rim.

This stands at occasional-table height rather than side-table height, so it suits a window bay, an entrance or the far end of a sofa. The marbling needs light to show as depth; in a dim corner the column reads as a flat white shape. The wide dished top will take a tray, and the band of rings is the only detail to keep clean of dust. Indoors.

The Column, the Top, and the Order

Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The carved column is the slow part. There are three open questions. The marbling can be run stronger or fainter, the acrylic is offered in a tint, and the number of rings round the column is open. The top diameter is quoted to your figure. Tell us the top diameter and the overall height. A second piece added later will differ on the marbling through the column. The dished top and the incised rings travel padded, and it takes four people to set the table in place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
