White Marble & Red Resin Curved Reception Desk - 240cm with a boat-like translucent red resin hull over a white marble base, shown on a plain light background.
White Marble & Red Resin Curved Reception Desk - 240cm $21,33200
Description

This reception desk is a white marble body with softly rounded corners, and across its whole front sits a deep translucent red hull in cast resin. The hull curves down to its lowest point at the centre and rises to a fine point at each end, and it stands clear of the marble beneath so the red reads as a separate form laid against the white rather than a panel let into it.

A Red Resin Hull Wrapped Across a Marble Body

The hull is the piece. It is a single sweep with no join anywhere along it, and the red is in the resin so the colour deepens where the section is seen edge on at the points. The marble body behind it is plain and softly cornered on purpose, giving the hull nothing to compete with, and the top returns forward over the hull as a narrow white lip. Where the two meet there is a shadow gap rather than a mitre, which is what keeps the red reading as a form in its own right.

This is a standing counter rather than a desk to sit at, made to be approached from the front and worked at from behind: a hotel lobby, a corporate reception, a showroom, a club or a spa. It takes two or three people behind it. The red is the whole event, so the wall behind wants to be plain and the floor quiet, and it is at its strongest where a light can wash the hull from above and pick up the translucency at the points. Indoor use only.

Hull Colour, Marble Choice & Site Access

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The hull is specified in this red, in amber, in blue or in a colourless version where the marble is to be the only material read, and its depth can be brought down so it sits as a band rather than a full sweep. The marble is selected rather than specified, so the veining falls where the block decides. Length is made to order, and the hull is re-drawn to whatever length is chosen rather than stretched. Site access is the practical question on a piece this size: a marble body this long will not turn a domestic stair or most first-floor landings, so we ask for door widths, corridor lengths and any turn before the order is scheduled, and where the route will not take it the body is made in two sections meeting behind the hull. It arrives on a pallet with the hull fitted, and it takes four people and a level floor. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A red hull wrapped across white marble makes this desk one of our art furniture; it serves a lobby among our indoor sculptures, and the cast hull belongs with our resin sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
