White Lobed Top Acrylic Low Table on Brass Collars - 73cm $5,80500
Description

A low table made from four pieces, a top and three cylinder legs. The top is opal white acrylic cut to a soft three-lobed outline, so the plan has no straight edge anywhere on it and the shape shifts as you walk round. It rests on three translucent cylinders, each ringed with a brass collar at the head and the foot, and a small brass ball sits on the top surface above each one.

A Three-Lobed Cloud Held on Three Cylinders

The opal white reads the same on the cut edges as it does on the faces, so a chip on an edge shows white rather than clear. The lobed plan is cut from a single sheet and then the whole perimeter is dressed by hand: the outline runs in and out of three curves and a machine follower leaves flats on the tight radii, which have to be worked out afterwards. The edge is then flame-polished to a soft gloss that diffuses light rather than reflecting it, which is what gives the top its milky look from the side. The cylinders are separate mouldings, and the brass collars are turned to fit each one individually - the mouldings vary by a fraction and a collar cut to nominal size will rock. The balls cap the fixings that pull the legs up into the top.

This is a table to put in front of a low sofa rather than beside a chair, and the three-lobed plan means it can be pushed into a seating group from any side without presenting a corner. Because the top is opaque white it holds its own against a busy rug, where a clear top would simply take the pattern up. The brass warms the whole piece, so it settles better in a room with wood or with other warm metal than in one that is all cool grey.

The Lobes, the Brass, and How It Is Packed

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. The top can be cut to two lobes or to four, and the opal can be supplied in a clear or a smoked acrylic instead if you want to see the cylinders through it. The brass can be left to darken naturally or lacquered to hold its colour. The table is packed as four pieces - top and three cylinders - and assembles with the balls, which are the only tool needed since they thread down onto the studs by hand. That keeps the crate small for the size of the finished table and means it will go up a staircase in parts. One person can carry each piece. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A three-lobed cloud of opal white belongs with our organic sculptures; a top on brass-collared cylinders connects with our art furniture, and a soft white plan for a busy rug joins our acrylic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
