This tall-backed armchair is cast in a frosted jade-effect resin. The back rises well past shoulder height and curves round into closed arms, and the whole shell continues downward into a solid skirt with an arch cut into the front. On the seat lies a separate pale leather pad, the one element not cast in resin. The resin is a frosted translucent white with a faint green cast in the shadows.
The back is what this chair is, and it is tall enough to change the room rather than just the corner. It rises past shoulder height and curves round far enough to close at the arms, so a sitter is enclosed on three sides. Against all that frosted white, the leather seat pad is the one opaque element, and it reads as a deliberate interruption rather than an accessory. The frost is even over compound curves and holds no highlight, which is why the profile reads as a silhouette from across a room. The faint green in the shadows is in the material, not on it.
At 118cm to the top of the back this is a tall chair and it reads as a piece of furniture in its own right, not part of a set, so it does better as a single chair at the head of a table or in a corner than repeated round a table. It encloses a sitter on three sides, which suits a reading position. The skirt runs to the floor, so it cannot straddle a threshold. Light from the side shows the frost and keeps the leather pad reading warm against it. Indoors only.
Order a standard piece and it takes 3–4 weeks; order it bespoke and it takes 5–6. The height of the back is the slow part. Three things are settled at order. The back height, which can come down as far as a standard tub chair. The seat pad, which can be this pale leather, a darker hide that reads as a deliberate contrast, or no pad at all. And the body colour, from this frosted white through to a pale celadon or a deeper jade. Both the seat height and the width across are yours to set. It ships upright in one crate with the back protected, and two people should carry it through a doorway. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Its towering back makes it a statement among our art furniture; the high curve of its back suits our organic sculptures, and the frosted body with our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
