Description

This ice-textured column is a display plinth, square in plan and made to raise a single piece. Its faces are acrylic with a rough, frosted texture, like ice or rough-hewn stone, so the column is pale and softly translucent and every surface catches the light. The top is flat and square, and the plinth is sold singly.

An Ice-Textured Column to Show a Piece

A textured plinth has a character that a plain one does not, and this one is made to look carved from ice. The frosted, pitted faces scatter light rather than reflect it, so the column glows softly and never mirrors the room, and the texture gives it presence without colour. The edges are left square and crisp, which keeps it architectural rather than decorative. It suits pieces in glass, clear resin, metal or dark stone, and anything with a strong colour looks especially good against its pale, even ground.

At 100cm, in a gallery, a showroom, a hall or a living room, it brings a piece up to standing eye level. Its pale, glowing surface stands out against a dark or coloured wall, and a light from above makes the texture sparkle. Stand it where it can be walked round, since the texture runs over every face and the square corners catch the light as crisply as the faces do.

Texture, Tint and Setting It Down

Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. Other proportions are possible, with the texture finer or coarser, and the acrylic can be tinted or left clear. A tinted plinth turns the ice effect into coloured glass, while a clear one keeps the texture but lets the light through. Carry it upright by two opposite faces, and set it down square on a hard level floor where it is to stand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
