This white spiral is solid and deeply ridged at its core, and its outer edge breaks up into hundreds of loose filaments before it closes. The ridges run round the curve in concentric bands, and at the inner end of the spiral the resin frays into a short fringe of its own. The filaments are a separate material, fine strands of acrylic, and they stand slightly apart from one another instead of lying flat. Two slender black rods hold the spiral up off a base of black marble.
The whole of this piece is one transition and it either works or it does not. A solid ridged curl and a fringe of loose filaments are two quite different things, and where they meet is the first place anyone looks. Here there is no line between them: the ridged band narrows as it comes round, its edge loosens, and the filaments take over from it gradually, sparse at first and then dense enough to read as a mass of their own as they sweep over the top. The band is frosted to a soft, grainy white, so the solid part and the strands share one colour and only their texture tells them apart.
The filaments read only as a silhouette, so it needs a plain field behind it and nothing patterned. Seen against a window or a pale wall the fringe is a soft halo and the core is a solid dark shape inside it; seen against a bookcase the two merge and the piece looks like a damaged bowl. It also wants to stand clear of anything that brushes past, since the filaments are fine and stand free of one another. At 89cm with its rods and marble, a console or a sideboard suits it, the fringe then met at about eye level.
Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The solid ridged curl has to become loose filaments without a line where one stops and the other starts. The density of the filaments is set at order, the spiral is drawn open or closed, and the filaments are supplied in a warm white as well as this cold one. Its base can be white marble rather than this black, and the core can be left unridged for a smoother reading. The filaments are packed dressed into a sleeve so they arrive lying the way they left, the marble is boxed apart from the spiral, and the sleeve is drawn off only once the spiral stands in place. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
The filaments are acrylic sculpture; the spiral they grow out of is organic sculpture; and something read as a silhouette wants the plain grounds of indoor sculpture.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
