White Cracked Form Resin Sculpture, 150cm, white abstract furled shape with ridged texture on a black metal plate atop a tall pale plinth, white background.
White Cracked Form Resin Sculpture - 150cm $2,90200
Description

A form furled over on itself, the whole outer surface split and ridged. White over the whole form, with the cracked surface throwing its own grey where the ridges fall. Two supports are supplied: a thin black metal plate directly under the form, and a tall pale marble plinth beneath that.

A White Surface With Only Shadow to Read It By

A white form gives the eye no colour to work with, so everything it reads is shadow: the cracking is cut deep enough to hold one at any angle of light, and the ridges between the cracks are left square rather than eased so that they throw a hard edge instead of a soft one. A white surface on a cast body is why the cracking reads as depth rather than as pattern: the colour is even everywhere, so the only thing the eye has to go on is shadow. The whole surface is left as worked, ridged and split, with no polished face on it.

Floor work for an entrance, with the plinth bringing the form to about standing height. A dark wall behind it, or a white form on a white ground has nothing to be seen against. One source high and off to the side. Straight-on light closes every crack in it. The silhouette carries; the cracking has to be come to.

Cutting the Plinth Again, and Two Crates at the Door

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. We will cut the plinth at another height, work the surface smooth, or make the form at another size against it. Change the plinth and the whole arrangement is redrawn, since the two are set against where the form meets a standing eye. Palleted in two crates, the plinth in one and the form in the other, and joined on site. Four people and a trolley. The plinth is the weight, not the form. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A white form furled over on itself and split across its surface belongs to our organic sculptures; the metal plate under it links it to our metal sculptures, and it meets visitors at the front door, like others in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
