White & Timber Set Cast Resin Block Table, 52cm, with dark barked timber running through white and clear resin, log end visible on top, white background.
White & Timber Set Cast Resin Block Table - 52cm $4,38700
Description

This cast resin and timber block table is an upright rectangular block, partly opaque white resin and partly clear, with a length of dark barked timber running through it from end to end. The cut end of the log shows at the top face, growth rings and all, and the white and the clear meet on a line that steps across the front rather than running straight down it.

A Log Set Through a Block of White and Clear

The timber is set in position and the resin poured around it in stages, so nothing moves out of place and no lift line shows between one stage and the next. Two resins are used, an opaque white and a colourless one, and they meet on a line that steps across the front. The bark is left rough and unbroken round the whole section, with no gap anywhere between it and the resin, and the cut end at the top is brought flush with the block rather than left proud of it.

At 52cm it stands at chair-arm height and works as a drinks table beside a seat or as a stand for a single object. It wants light from the side rather than above, since that is what brings the bark up through the clear half, and the cut end at the top is worth leaving uncovered, where the growth rings show.

The Timber, the Split, and Choosing the Section

Work on a bespoke commission runs to 5–6 weeks, on a standard piece to 3–4. Most of it is the timber setting. Three of its features are open. The species of the timber is yours to name, the white can be replaced with another opaque colour or dropped for an all-clear block, and the line between the two resins can be set where you want it. Block span and block height are cut to your figures. Every piece in a single order is worked so where the timber crosses the block agrees. It ships with the cut end of the timber and the block corners protected and wants one person to position it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A barked log run through a block of white and clear finds a home with our contemporary and modern sculptures; beside a seat it serves among our art furniture, and a side-lit room among our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
