A broad hoop of milk-white resin serves as the backrest of this dining chair. It leaves the seat on each side, rises and turns over in one unbroken curve, and its surface is high-gloss, so it shines like porcelain. The white is opaque rather than clear and softens only slightly near the foot of each side. The seat and four legs are black, the legs tapering gently from the seat corners to the floor.
Black and white give the chair a hard, graphic outline. The white band is dense enough to hide what is behind it, so from the front it reads as a solid arch drawn against the room, and its gloss throws back window light in long, bright strips. The frame is a deep black with a quieter sheen, and the join where white meets black, left and right of the seat, is crisp and level. Around the curve the white holds an even tone, with only a faint grey softness where each end of the band reaches the seat.
It suits a monochrome scheme and a black or white dining table, works at a desk in a pale study too, and a row of them gives a long table a strong rhythm. Because the white back hides what is behind it, it works where a clear chair would show the clutter of a busy kitchen. Stone, terrazzo and dark timber floors all set it off. Indoor use only.
Build times separate standard from bespoke: 3–4 weeks against 5–6. The mould is already in the workshop, so production begins straight away. White is one of several back colours, alongside red, amber, blue and clear, and the frame may be black or matched to the back. Heights, at the seat and overall, can be set to your own dimensions, and a set comes from a single run so that the whites agree. Each chair ships in a crate of its own, needs no assembly, and is light to move about. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Opaque white-backed dining seating forms part of our art furniture; it is suited to our indoor sculptures, and its glossy cast band to our resin sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
