A long boat whose metal hull is finished in a dark, weathered brown under a rough, textured rail, pointed at both ends and gently upswept. The sides are cut open in irregular windows, and through them shows a cargo of teal acrylic slats packed upright along its length. A raised bar on short posts stands over the middle of the hull, and toward one end five oars, each a bent shaft ending in a flat blade, hang down over the side.
Length changes what a boat says: at this size it reads as a real vessel, and the details that make it believable are the ones that are kept. The rail is rough and textured, like old timber or corroded iron, the raised bar and the oars hung over the side make it a boat that has been worked, and the windows are cut irregular, as if the sides had worn away to show what the boat carries. Inside, the teal slats are clean and bright, and that contrast between the worn hull and the glowing cargo is the whole piece.
It needs a long surface of its own, a full-length sideboard or a console, where it is seen broadside so the windows line up along its length. Light from above or behind turns the teal cargo luminous against the dark hull. Allow clear space at both ends for the upswept bow and stern, and keep the wall behind it plain.
Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The hull can be finished in another patina, a rust, a black or a tone of antiqued gold, and the cargo can be green, amber, blue or clear; the oars and the raised bar can be left off for a plainer boat. Without the oars the hull reads more as a vessel and less as a working boat. One long crate carries it, and the boat is always lifted from beneath the hull, never by an oar, the raised bar or either pointed end. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A weathered brown hull with five oars over its side and a teal cargo showing through its windows is moored among our acrylic sculptures, our contemporary and modern sculptures and our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
