Turquoise Hewn Faceted Mass Resin Sculpture - 70cm, an irregular faceted form with glossy ridges and deep turquoise core fading pale at the edges, shown on a plain white background.
Turquoise Hewn Faceted Mass Resin Sculpture - 70cm $3,63600
Description

A solid mass of turquoise resin worked into irregular faces of different sizes and left flat beneath, where it rests. Over most of it the faces run into one another in soft, glossy ridges and shallow dimples, like ice worn smooth, and at one end they meet in crisp edges as cut facets. Turquoise is deepest at the core and clears at every edge, so the faces read paler than the mass. Nothing is supplied under it.

Cut Faces on a Solid Body

A solid mass is the one form in this material where the inside matters more than the outside, because everything the eye does happens several centimetres in. The faces are cut at angles that do not repeat, so each one sends light a different way into the body, and the piece never settles into a pattern from any single position. Most of the edges between the faces are softened into rounded ridges, and only at one end do they meet crisply, so the mass reads as worn ice at one end and as cut stone at the other. The cut faces are polished, so what looks like broken stone is smooth to the hand.

A sideboard or a deep shelf suits it, set near enough to the eye that the cut faces can be looked into. A pale wall lets the turquoise show; a dark one turns the whole mass to a silhouette. Light into the cut faces scatters and comes back paler, so the core reads brighter than the surface around it. The turquoise carries; the cut faces are what you come over to look at.

Fewer Faces, and Getting It In

Count on the difference between standard and bespoke: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The faces are cut broader or fewer, the turquoise is taken toward green, and the underside is left unpolished. Cut broader faces and fewer of them, and the mass is reshaped around what is left. A fitted crate holds it in one piece, and it is lifted out with both hands beneath its flat underside, never by a ridge or an edge. The softened ridges can also be cut crisp all over, or the crisp end worn down to match the rest. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Turquoise resin hewn into glossy ridges and crisp facets connects this mass to our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
