Description

A frosted turquoise sweep that flares at one end into a broad, flat oval face cut on a slant and narrows along its length into a tail rising at the other end to a rounded tip. A single fold runs along the tail, one crisp edge with a face falling away on either side of it. The turquoise is even rather than graded and the surface is frosted throughout. A pale bar comes with it and carries on past the piece at both ends.

A Broad Oval Face and a Folded Tail

A single fold is the least a smooth form can be given and still change character, so everything depends on where across the tail it falls. Set at the middle it makes two equal faces and the piece reads as a folded card; set well off centre, as it is here, one face is broad and one narrow, and the fold becomes a ridge running across a surface rather than a crease dividing two. The even turquoise is part of that: a graded colour would give the two faces different weights and undo the asymmetry the fold is placed to create.

Square to the room, it shows the broad oval face at one end and the folded tail at the other in a single view. A raking source is what tells the two faces apart, since an even wash gives a frosted surface one tone everywhere. The bar runs past the piece and wants the surface to do the same. Seen along its length, the sweep runs from that wide oval face down to a tail slim enough to show its fold as one crisp line.

Spans, the Turquoise and Delivery

Time separates the two: a bespoke commission takes 5–6 weeks, a standard piece 3–4. The fold is carried further along the body, the turquoise is deepened, and a black bar is cut for it. Width is open, and a bar is cut to match whichever is made. Moving the fold further out again narrows one face to a lip, which is a different object altogether. It travels in one crate with its bar, bedded under the fold, and it is lifted from beneath the body, never by the raised tail. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
