In this seated resin sculpture the figure sits with its knees apart and its feet hanging clear of the pedestal beneath it, and both hands are held flat across the face so none of the features can be seen. Two large ears stand out at the sides of the head. The body is translucent amber resin, dark where it is thickest at the shoulders and honey where the light comes through the chest, and the hands are the only opaque part: white, printed rather than cast, and marked on the back.
Two materials meeting at the face is the whole difficulty of this piece. The body is cast in a translucent amber that changes tone with its own thickness, and the hands are printed in an opaque white and then finished by hand, which means they have to be brought to a surface the cast resin does not make them look cheap beside. They also have to fit: the hands cover the face completely, so any gap at the cheek would be the first thing anybody saw, and each pair is made to the finished head rather than to a drawing of it. The ears are cast with the head and not added, because a seam at the ear root would run straight across the widest part of the silhouette. The pedestal is a separate block and is cut flat to the figure's own seat.
Seated with its feet hanging, the figure behaves like a guest in the room, and at 75cm with its pedestal it wants a low surface or a floor position where it can be met at its own level: the end of a run of shelving, a hearth, a wide windowsill, the floor beside a chair. It faces one way and the composition only closes from the front, so meet it head on. Translucent amber comes alive with light behind it and goes almost black in a dark corner, which is worth choosing for rather than discovering.
Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The body colour is made to order and this amber is one of a range that also runs to a smoke, a deep blue, a rose and a colourless version. The hands are offered in this white, a black or a colour matched to the body, and their marking can be left off. Scale is cut to order. The pedestal comes in this white, a black stone or a dark timber, and it can be left out where the figure is going straight onto a floor. Figure and pedestal travel in one crate in separate trays, and the two need no fixing: the figure simply sits on. It is a two-person lift out of the crate. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A seated figure hiding its face in its hands belongs with our Iconify sculptures; amber that darkens at the shoulders leads to our resin sculptures, and a figure to meet at its own level joins our indoor sculptures.

Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
