The Traditional Ram Head Bronze Sculpture stands 50cm tall, presenting a disembodied ram's head in commanding three-quarter view, mounted atop a slender twisted-shaft pole. Large spiralling horns with pronounced ribbing arch dramatically outward, while an open mouth reveals visible teeth and a woolly fleece texture frames the neck and chin in fine, hand-worked detail.
This piece is produced using the lost-wax casting method, the same process behind the world's most enduring bronze works. Molten bronze is poured into a precision mould derived from an original sculpted model, then cooled, removed, and meticulously hand-chased by skilled craftspeople. The result is a solid cast bronze ram head sculpture with sharp surface fidelity: every ridge on the horn, every curl of fleece, and the prominent spherical eyes are rendered with gallery-grade clarity. The warm mid-brown patina sits naturally across the surface, deepening the textural contrast between the smooth horn sweep and the woolly chin detail. As a hand-finished bronze animal bust, no two pieces will be entirely identical.
At 50cm and 35kg, this sculpture carries genuine physical presence. It suits a wide range of interior and exterior settings: a formal study, a reception hall, a covered terrace, or an open garden plinth. The warm bronze tone complements natural stone, dark timber, and neutral rendered surfaces equally well. It is fully weather-resistant and suited to year-round outdoor placement without special maintenance.
We offer a full range of patina options beyond the standard warm mid-brown, including verdigris, dark espresso, and antique gold. The sculpture can also be produced at a larger scale or adapted as part of a broader Chinese Zodiac series. This piece draws on the visual tradition of Chinese Zodiac ram and sheep iconography, and we are able to discuss commissions inspired by the work of specific sculptors or cultural references on request. Contact us before ordering to discuss any bespoke requirements.
