The Traditional Flute Boy Bronze Fountain stands 90cm tall, depicting a barefoot boy perched on the edge of a stone block, legs dangling freely, both hands raised as he holds a flute to his lips. Water jets from the lower end of the instrument, completing a composition that is at once playful and precisely observed.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this hand-finished bronze fountain sculpture carries a distinctive two-tone chemical patina: warm brown tones over the boy's exposed skin and lower body, and a rich blue-green verdigris across his clothing, short suit, and backward-facing cap. The contrast is deliberate and controlled, lending the piece a depth of character that flat finishes cannot replicate. Every surface detail, from the folds in the fabric to the curve of the fingers around the flute, is refined by hand after casting. At 80kg, the sculpture has the solidity and presence its scale demands.
Designed for outdoor placement, this garden bronze water feature suits stone courtyards, formal pond surrounds, walled gardens, and heritage-style landscaping. The pale rectangular stone block plinth is integral to the composition, grounding the figure naturally in any setting where natural stone, brick, or gravel tones dominate. The two-tone patina will continue to develop outdoors over time, deepening the verdigris and enriching the overall character of the piece.
Patina finish, scale, and plinth configuration are all open to adjustment. We are also able to produce fully bespoke versions at alternate heights or with modified compositional details, inspired by the work of classical European fountain sculptors working in the figurative tradition. Contact us before ordering to confirm your requirements and we will advise accordingly.
