The Traditional Children Under Umbrella Bronze Fountain, standing 130cm tall and weighing 250kg, is a garden centrepiece of quiet narrative charm: three children sheltering together beneath a single umbrella as water cascades outward from the umbrella's rim in a sweeping curtain of movement.
Cast using the traditional lost-wax method, this handcrafted bronze fountain is finished to gallery standard. The surface carries a warm golden-brown patina, with deeper oxidation drawing into the recessed folds of clothing and the naturalistic rock base, giving the piece visual depth that photographs cannot fully convey. At 250kg, the weight alone speaks to the density and quality of the bronze poured into it.
The composition places a central girl seated on an irregular stone-form base, holding the umbrella aloft, with two boys gathered close behind her. The arrangement is tight and unselfconscious, the kind of grouping that reads as genuinely observed rather than composed. Water jets from the umbrella's perimeter in a full curtain effect, falling into an integrated pond basin at the base. The piece arrives ready to connect to a standard water pump and plumbing supply. It is designed exclusively for outdoor installation: a formal pond setting, a walled garden courtyard, or a landscaped terrace with a stone or pale gravel surround will all complement its warm bronze tones and naturalistic base form.
The patina shown is our classic warm golden-brown with dark oxidation accents, but we can finish the piece in a cooler verde antique green, a deep espresso brown, or a more uniform mid-tone depending on your setting. Scaling adjustments are available on request. If you have a specific commission in mind, contact us before ordering and we will discuss feasibility, timeline, and any bespoke requirements in detail.
