Traditional Bighorn Ram Head Bronze Bust 90cm by Giant Sculptures, dark patina with ochre highlights on curled horns, on granite disc and wood plinth base.
Traditional Bighorn Ram Head Bronze Bust - 90cm $13,60700
Description

The Traditional Bighorn Ram Head Bronze Bust stands at 90cm and presents the head and neck of a bighorn ram with the commanding stillness of a trophy specimen rendered in fine art bronze. The head tilts slightly forward and to the left, the great ribbed horns sweeping back in a wide arc before curling powerfully forward, filling the composition with sculptural weight and natural authority.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

Cast using the lost-wax method, every surface of this piece carries genuine craft. The hand-applied dark brown patina deepens across the skull and horn mass, while warm ochre highlights lift the horn ridges and the planes of the face, replicating the tonal variation of the living animal. Naturalistic fleece texture covers the neck and chest in dense, close-packed detail; the eye is set with expressive precision. The overall effect is one of gallery-quality bronze casting that rewards close inspection as much as it commands a room from a distance. The bust is presented on a two-tier base: a polished dark granite disc sits directly beneath the neck, itself resting on a rounded plinth in warm reddish-brown hardwood, giving the piece a grounded, collector-grade presentation.

At 90cm and 70kg, this is a substantial statement piece. It suits a wide study, a double-height entrance hall, a boardroom, or a covered outdoor terrace. The rich patina holds its character against both warm interior lighting and natural daylight; the granite and wood base reads equally well against stone flooring, dark hardwood, and pale limestone. For outdoor placement, a sheltered position under a portico or pergola is ideal, allowing the bronze to weather gracefully without direct exposure to standing water.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina options beyond the standard dark brown, including verde antique, warm golden brown, and cold black. The piece can be scaled up for monumental installations or reduced for more intimate settings. If you would like a bespoke commission, contact us before ordering so we can discuss your requirements and confirm timelines.
