Giant Sculptures Traditional Bespectacled Elder Bust in reddish-brown cast bronze, hands in namaste, on a two-tiered stone plinth against a light grey background.
Traditional Bespectacled Elder Bust Bronze Bust - 100cm $18,75600
Description

The Traditional Bespectacled Elder Bust, standing 100cm in total height, is a dignified half-figure portrait rendered in rich cast bronze. The subject is depicted from the waist upward, hands pressed together in a namaste gesture at chest height, head turned slightly with a composed and gentle smile, wire-framed round spectacles faithfully cast in bronze, and a draped shawl resting across bare shoulders.

Cast Bronze, Hand-Finished

This piece is produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, which preserves the precision of fine facial detail, the delicate rendering of the spectacle frames, and the quiet dignity of the prayer gesture. The surface carries a warm reddish-brown patina with subtle tonal variation across the bronze, giving the figure depth and presence without artifice. The bust is mounted on a two-tiered stone plinth, the upper block sitting close beneath the figure and a taller rectangular column forming the base, together contributing significant visual weight and formal gravitas. As a life-size bronze bust weighing 90kg, this is a piece of genuine sculptural substance.

The sculpture suits formal interiors: entrance halls, institutional lobbies, libraries, private studies, and commemorative garden settings. Its warm bronze tones pair naturally with dark wood panelling, pale stone flooring, and muted heritage colour palettes. The piece is equally at home displayed outdoors in a sheltered garden setting, courtyard, or institutional grounds, where the stone plinth and bronze patina will weather gracefully over time.

Handmade to Order, Fully Customisable

We offer a range of patina finishes beyond the warm reddish-brown shown, including dark antique brown, verdigris green, and natural weathered bronze. The sculpture can also be produced at a modified scale to suit a specific setting or commission. For clients seeking a personalised portrait bust inspired by a specific individual, or work inspired by the work of a particular figurative tradition, our studio welcomes detailed briefs. Contact us before ordering to discuss patina, scale, or any bespoke requirements.
