A single ribbon wound up through four full turns, each one a little wider than the one below it, and the whole column standing on the foot the ribbon grows out of. Teal is banked at the foot and lifts away through four turns until the top is colourless. Polished all over, it carries a bright line of light down the edge of every turn.
A spiral is a column pretending to be unstable, and the pretence only works if the foot is heavy enough that it is not. A ribbon wound this way has no repeating section anywhere along it, so every turn is a different width and a different pitch, and the column reads as a movement rather than as a stack of identical rings. A spiral this tall is a column made to look unstable, and the foot is plainly the heaviest part of it, which is what keeps the look from turning into a worry. A full polish over every face, which is what makes the turns read as one continuous movement.
A hall, an atrium or a garden room. At this height it is floor work and wants nothing beside it. Plain ground behind, or the turns fill up with whatever is there and the spiral stops reading as a spiral. Daylight suits it best. Under one interior lamp the upper turns go unlit and the spiral reads as two turns rather than four. From a distance it is a single rising line; the four separate turns only count once you are inside a few metres.
Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The turns are drawn tighter, the teal is carried further up, or the polish is taken back to a frost. Tighten the turns and the height comes down with them, because the ribbon is one length however it is wound. It travels upright, crated on a pallet, and comes out by the two turns nearest the foot. Two people and a clear route. At its full height it will not go round a tight corner upright. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A teal ribbon clearing as it spirals upward belongs to our organic sculptures; the polished casting sits with our resin sculptures, and more for an atrium or a tall hall is in our indoor sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
