Teal Swirled Crowned Twist Resin Sculpture, 145cm, a twisting abstract figure in teal and white resin on a black marble base, set against a plain light background.
Teal Swirled Crowned Twist Resin Sculpture - 145cm $5,33300
Description

A body twisting as it rises and opening into a fan at the top, with fold lines running the whole way up the turn. Teal swirls through white, and the fold lines running up the twist are where it reads darkest. A deep black marble block is supplied and the twist rises from it directly.

Widest at the Top

Opening the top into a fan puts the widest part of the piece furthest from the foot, which is the opposite of how a column usually works. The fold lines are what make that readable: they carry the eye up through the turn and deliver it to the crown, so the top-heaviness is arrived at rather than noticed. The crown at the top is thinner than anything below it, so the casting has to hold a section that changes the whole way up. Polished, and the fan at the top is polished on its inner faces where little of it will be seen.

A landing, a hall table or the corner of a wide room. Pale behind it, or the white loses its edge against the ground. Light from below throws the fold lines up the body; from above they disappear. From across a room the crown is what registers, and the twist beneath it is what holds anyone who comes closer.

Opening the Crown, and Delivery

As standard the build runs 3–4 weeks, and as a bespoke commission 5–6. The crown is opened wider, the teal is taken toward green, and a deeper block is supplied. Open the crown and the twist below is slackened to balance it, since the two are read as one movement. Block first, set down where it will stay, and the twist lowered onto it once it is level. One person, taken low around the twist and never by the crown. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A teal twist opening into a fanned crown leads to our organic sculptures; the swirled teal and white body suits our resin sculptures, and further crowned forms stand in our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
