Teal Ribbed Twin Wing Fan Resin Sculpture (82cm) by Giant Sculptures, ribbed asymmetrical wings in blue-green resin on a black rectangular base, plain light grey background.
Teal Ribbed Twin Wing Fan Resin Sculpture - 82cm $2,09100
Description

A teal fan opens out of a central cup into two ribbed wings, and the wings are not alike: one reaches out low and almost level, while the second climbs steeply and lifts at its tip. The ribs run the length of each wing and stand proud of the surface, so the wings read as pleated rather than smooth. The teal, a deep blue-green, is darkest and nearly black where the cup narrows into its stem, and it thins outward along the ribs until the wing tips are almost colourless. Beneath it stands a short block of black marble.

Two Ribbed Wings, One Low and One Raised

The interest of this fan lies in how unevenly its two wings are drawn. Both spring from the same cup and carry the same raised ribs, but one travels out nearly flat as its partner sweeps upward and curls over at the end, so the piece reads as a single movement from one side to the other rather than as a symmetrical ornament. The ribs follow each wing along its whole length, and the cup's own rim is left torn and wavy, rising to a small peak at the centre where the two wings part. The teal gathers in the narrow stem and thins through the wings, which keeps the weight of colour low and the tips light.

The ribs only separate when light comes through them, so it wants to stand where daylight arrives from behind. Lit from the front the pleating flattens out and the wings read as two plain sheets, which loses most of what the piece is about. Give it a hall table or dresser with a window at its back, never a shelf that faces a blank wall. Measure the surface before anything else: the low wing reaches well out past the block, and the raised one needs open air above it.

Wing Length, Tint, and How It Ships

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. On commission the wings can be drawn out longer, the raised wing lifted higher or brought down nearer to level, and the teal taken deeper, paler or into another colour altogether. The rib count is set at order too, and the ribs can be run across the wing instead of along it where a tighter pattern suits the position. It travels flat with each wing faced separately and the stone crated apart, and it is set on its stone on site. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A teal fan whose ribbed wings rise unevenly from one narrow cup belongs to our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
