Teal Pierced Mountain Range Resin Sculpture, 65cm, with three pierced openings on a black base, shown against a plain white background.
Teal Pierced Mountain Range Resin Sculpture - 65cm $1,88900
Description

Three openings are cut right through this teal ridge, the widest of them beneath its tallest summit. The openings are large enough to put a hand through and the body between them is barely a finger thick. It stands on the stone base supplied with it, which runs a little beyond the range at both ends, and the range itself is shallow from front to back.

You See the Room Through the Mountain

Three openings through a body this shallow leaves very little material anywhere, and what is left has to do two jobs at once: carry the peaks above and hold the line of the range across the gaps. The temptation is to thicken the arches, and thickening them is exactly what kills the piece, because the openings stop being openings and become windows in a wall. So the sections between are drawn as thin as the material will stand and the peaks above are kept low over them, which is why the tallest summits sit where the body is solid.

Whatever is behind it is seen through it, so the background is part of the object rather than a setting for it. A window, a mirror or a clear run of room behind all fill the openings with something worth seeing; a solid wall close behind turns all three into dark patches. It is low and long, so a shelf at seated height with space behind it is close to ideal.

The Openings, a Tint, and Getting It Home

Once ordered, a standard piece takes 3–4 weeks and a bespoke one 5–6. The range is cut through in three places and the material between the openings is barely a finger thick, which is what keeps them reading as openings. How many openings there are is chosen with the order, and each is drawn wider or tighter, and the teal is taken to a blue. A solid version is made and is a heavier object in every sense, with none of the background in it. It travels in one padded case with each opening supported from inside and the stone boxed apart, and two hands set the range on it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A teal ridge you can see the room through belongs with our organic sculptures; three openings cut through a thin body put it among our resin sculptures, and a window or a mirror behind it suits our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
