Description

Teal marbling runs all through the body of this cast resin curl, and the base under it is two courses of black marble with a gold band between them. The marbling is not a surface effect: pale veins and darker inky clouds carry on into the material and change as the piece is seen from different sides. The curl itself is a single simple hook, wide and deep, turning most of the way round an open centre. Its upper tongue thins and clears almost to colourless at the tip, and the other end rises in a blunt, upturned tail rather than a broken crest.

Marbling That Goes All the Way Through

Marbling in a tinted resin only convinces if it has depth, and here it does. The teal is at its darkest in the thick of the hook, where the veins crowd together into clouds of ink, and it pales wherever the resin thins, so the upper tongue passes from teal to a clear, glassy tip and the edges of the curl glow when light comes through them. The base answers all that movement with stillness: its two black courses are polished to a deep shine and squared at every corner, and the thin gold band between them runs flush with both faces, one bright line beneath the colour.

At 66cm with its base, it needs a surface that keeps the curl below eye level. A low cabinet, a chest, a broad windowsill or a console at hip height all work; a tall bookcase shelf does not, because the marbling only reads when it is looked into rather than up at. It suits a position with a plain field behind, since the veining is pale and gets lost against pattern. Light from above and slightly forward is what shows the depth of the marbling, which is the thing that separates it from a tinted curl.

One Course or Two, the Gold Band, and Delivery

Where the piece is standard the build is 3–4 weeks, and where it is bespoke 5–6. The base can be made as a single course, and the gold band can be left out or run in steel. The curl is drawn to any width, the marbling can be laid heavier or almost absent, and the tint runs from this teal through a smoke grey and an amber. The stone is packed flat in a braced case with the curl faced above it, and the curl is set down onto its base where the piece is to stand. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Marbling that runs right through the curl is organic sculpture and resin sculpture in one, and the built-up stone under it is why it sits with indoor sculpture.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
