Teal Gridded Upright Leaf Resin Sculpture, 49cm, grey and teal leaf form with fine grid texture tapering to a point, on a black marble base, plain white background.
Teal Gridded Upright Leaf Resin Sculpture - 49cm $1,75400
Description

An upright leaf, slim from front to back, in a grey body with teal running through it and a fine grid worked across the entire face. The form narrows to a point at the top and the squares of the grid are drawn a little finer as they approach it. The black marble under it comes with the leaf.

A Grid Cut Over the Whole Face

Here alone the texture is not confined to a region, and that changes what it does. A field combed over part of a body reads as a marked area within a clear one; carried over the whole face it stops being a mark and becomes the surface itself, which is why this form can be drawn so thin without looking fragile. The grid gives the eye a continuous scale across the leaf, and scale is what makes the thinness read as intention rather than as weakness. The point at the top is the other half of it. A leaf form that ends in a curve reads as a petal and sits still; ended in a point it acquires a direction, and the grid then appears to run up toward it. The squares are drawn slightly finer toward the tip for that reason, so the movement has somewhere to go.

At 49cm it needs very little surface and fits a narrow shelf or a desk. It is read through rather than at, so it asks for light from behind: a window ledge is ideal, and a bookshelf with depth behind it is better than a blank wall. Met from the edge the leaf closes to a line and the grid disappears entirely, so it should be given a position with one clear frontal approach.

The Grid, the Point, and Delivery

Production takes approximately 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. The grid is cut finer, the point is drawn blunter, and the teal is graded from the tip rather than the foot. The grid is also cut finer or coarser over the same face, which changes the apparent size of the piece more than its dimensions do. The leaf is made at other heights on this stone. A clear body with no grey in it is offered and makes a brighter object that holds the grid less well, since the grey is what the squares are read against. A single flat case takes it on edge, the point packed clear and the marble apart, and one person lifts it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A leaf drawn to a point belongs with our organic sculptures; a grid cut over a whole face leads to our resin sculptures, and a slim form for a window ledge joins our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
