Teal Branching Splash Ring Resin Sculpture (100cm) by Giant Sculptures, a ring-shaped splash with clear branching tips fading from teal, shown on a plain white background.
Teal Branching Splash Ring Resin Sculpture - 100cm $5,35800
Description

A teal splash thrown up in a ring, this cast resin sculpture runs its fingers clear towards the top, and the tall ones divide into two or three points near their ends. The teal is strongest low in the wall of the ring and falls away as each finger leaves it, so the colour runs out at about the same place the dividing begins. The ring is not closed: its wall dips low and open on one side, wide enough to see through to the fingers on the far side.

The Divisions Are All at the Tips

Branching at the tip is harder than branching low down, and it is the whole difficulty of this piece. Low on a form there is material to spare and a division can be made generously; at the very end of a finger there is almost none, and the two or three points have to come out of what is left without either of them going thin enough to slump. Here the divisions come at every height, high on the tallest fingers and nearer the ring on the rest, so the crown reads as a thicket of forked tips rather than a level row. Because each tip runs clear, the branching is drawn in light above the teal, and the open side of the ring lets the far fingers show between the near ones.

At 100cm it stands nearly as wide as it is tall, so it needs floor or a very generous surface rather than a shelf. On anything narrower the ring overhangs at the sides and the eye reads the support before it reads the piece. Floor suits it for a second reason: the gap in the ring is worth walking round to, and the far fingers seen through the near ones are most of what makes it more than a bowl of spikes. It wants room behind it as well as in front, and it does not do well pushed into an alcove where only one arc of the ring is ever in view.

Branching at the Thinnest Part, and Delivery

Standard pieces take 3–4 weeks and bespoke commissions 5–6. The fingers branch only at their very ends, so the branching has to happen at the thinnest part of the material. The height is cut to order, the branching can be left off for a plainer crown, and an amber is used in place of the teal. The gap in the ring is set where you want it. It travels in its own crate with each finger faced, and on site it is lifted under the ring and never by a finger. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A teal ring of water whose tall fingers run clear and fork at their tips is grouped with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
