Teal & Clear Low Wide Splash Cast Resin Sculpture, 68cm, with sea green tones deepening at the base and clear tips rising unevenly, shown on a plain white background.
Teal & Clear Low Wide Splash Cast Resin Sculpture - 68cm $2,71400
Description

A cast resin sculpture of a teal splash thrown sideways rather than upward, dark sea green in the trough and colourless at every tip. The teal gathers along the bottom where the material is heaviest and thins as each finger rises, so the colour and the height run together. The fingers do not stand in a row: some lean forward, some back, and the two longest are at opposite ends of the piece rather than in the middle.

Fingers at Every Height and No Two Alike

An uneven line is harder to draw than a regular one, and it is the whole of this piece. Real water thrown sideways never comes up level and never comes up in step, so a crown of matched fingers reads as ornament at once. Every finger here is a different length, a different thickness and a different lean, and none of them is a copy of its neighbour. That means there is no repeated element to fall back on: each one is drawn on its own and judged against the silhouette the whole piece makes, which is the only place the irregularity can be seen to be working. Get two of them too alike and the eye finds the pair immediately.

It is read down into as much as across, so it wants a surface below the eye rather than level with it. Met from above, the fingers separate and the gaps between them become part of the shape; met square on, they collapse into a single ragged band and most of the drawing is lost. A low surface in the middle of a room does that best, and it wants clear space on the side it is approached from rather than behind. Light from directly above picks out every tip and leaves the trough dark, which is the reading the piece is drawn for.

An Uneven Line, and Delivery

Allow 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks for a bespoke commission. No two fingers on it stand to the same height and the piece is read along that uneven line, so getting the line irregular and still believable is the work. The span is drawn to order, the teal can be deepened or carried further up the fingers, and the fingers themselves can be made fewer and heavier. Height is set at order against the span. Packing is one padded case laid on its back with every finger faced separately, and nothing has to be assembled: the piece is lifted out by its solid trough and set down. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Dark sea-green teal running out to clear tips along a sideways splash gives it a place with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
