Description

Pale steel blue runs through the whole of this splash, deepest in the bowl and the slim foot beneath it and cooling to a misty blue-grey across the crest. Above the bowl the water breaks into a web of tendrils that loop, merge and divide again around round windows, rising to a pair of spikes tied together by a bar near the top, while a loop of water curls open at one side like a hand. It comes on a black base.

Steel Blue Tendrils Around Round Windows

A tint carried right through means the colour is read by depth rather than by placement: where the bowl is thick the blue gathers into slate, and where the tendrils thin out it lightens to the faint, cool blue of ice, so each window in the web is ringed by a slightly darker edge. The tendrils are left smooth and glossy, every one catching a line of light, and the windows between them are rounded rather than torn, which gives the crest a calm, deliberate rhythm. The black base beneath sets off the pale colour and grounds the narrow foot.

Cool colour suits a calm room: a grey, white or stone-coloured wall shows the steel blue clearly, and daylight from one side brings the windows in the web into focus. Its 67cm, base included, makes it a piece for a sideboard or a console turned to face the room, where the crest meets a standing visitor at about eye height. Behind it, a wall with nothing on it lets every window in the web read clearly. Indoor use only.

The Steel Blue Splash, Commissions and Crating

Ordinarily a standard piece needs 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission 5–6. The order is for one splash on its black base, sold individually. As a commission the blue can be deepened towards slate or paled almost to clear, the web of tendrils can be opened out or packed closer, and the loop at the side can be widened or left off; other sizes are made to order. The splash and its base are crated apart; the base is stood level first where the piece will live, and the splash is set down onto it, held by the bowl. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
