Steel Blue Fanned Spiral Resin Sculpture, 63cm, with ribbed fans twisting from deep blue to clear resin, on a black base against a plain white background.
Steel Blue Fanned Spiral Resin Sculpture - 63cm $2,30600
Description

A deep, cool steel blue fills this cast spiral from its stem right up into the tall fans that crown it. Three ribbed fans turn about one another: one rises high and broad to a rounded, shell-like end, a second lifts beside it, and the widest swings out to the other side as a long wing that turns almost clear towards its point. The blue is densest in the stem, a saturated, slightly greyed colour. A black marble block sits beneath it.

Steel Blue Carried High Into the Upper Fans

Much of the character of this spiral comes from where its colour sits. The steel blue is not left in the stem but carried up through the fans that rise highest, so the crown of the piece reads as dense and cool as its foot, while the long wing that swings out to the side pales almost to clear. The ribs are fine and close, running across each fan like the growth lines of a shell, and the twist sets them at a new angle on every face. Walk round it and the dense upper fans and the pale wing trade places.

On its marble the piece stands 63cm, which suits a credenza or a desk in a home office or a quiet library, and its cool blue sits easily beside grey upholstery and white walls. A plain light ground behind it lets the darker fans stand out, and a lamp angled from the side picks out the close ribs. Because it reads differently from each side, it is happiest where people pass it from several directions. Indoor use only.

Slate Tones, Stone Choices and Handling

The standard build is 3–4 weeks and the bespoke build 5–6. Commissioned, it can take a deeper navy or a lighter slate, and the colour can be held to the stem with the upper fans left clear. The black block can be swapped for white or grey marble, and the spiral can be made with its ribs set further apart for a bolder pattern. Hold it by the base when it is moved, one hand beneath and one at the stem, and keep hands off the tall fans and the tip of the wing. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Cool steel blue wound through three ribbed fans gives this spiral a home in our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
