Smoky Topaz Furled Leaf Resin Sculpture on Marble, 102cm, with ribbed golden-brown leaf forms curling upward on a black base, shown against a plain white background.
Smoky Topaz Furled Leaf Resin Sculpture on Marble - 102cm $4,13100
Description

From one narrow foot, two leaf-like sheets unroll in this cast resin sculpture: one climbs into a tall blade that rolls over into a scroll at the top, the other opens wide into a fan, and a clear wing juts out halfway up. Every face carries a lattice of crossing ribs, raised so that each small diamond stands proud. The colour is a smoky topaz, a soft golden brown that turns to caramel low on the foot and along the blade's outer rim and fades to a smoky clear across the wing and the fan. Its base, a squared black marble block, is included.

A Quiet Topaz Lattice in Two Furls

This colour works more as atmosphere than as a statement. The smoky topaz holds the light softly, so the lattice of raised diamonds becomes the main event: each crossing rib throws a fine line of highlight, and together they draw the curve of every furl like the contour lines on a map. Where the blade rolls over and the fan widens, the ribs open out; near the foot they close up and the colour gathers into caramel. Because the tint is muted, the clear wing and the clear face of the fan read as a pale haze rather than as nothing at all, which keeps the whole form together.

Standing 102cm with its marble, it is suited to a quiet corner of a room or the side of a fireplace, set on the floor itself or lifted onto a plinth, where its muted warmth will not compete with anything else. It is at home with stone, linen, leather and walnut, and with grey or taupe walls that share its smoky note. Lamplight from one side brings up the ribs and the caramel at the foot; cool daylight from a north window keeps it calm and subdued.

Topaz Tone, Lattice and Moving It Safely

Plan for 3–4 weeks on a standard piece and 5–6 weeks on a bespoke commission. As a commission the topaz can be smokier still, warmed towards honey, or replaced by another tint altogether, and the caramel foot can be kept or blended away. A bolder lattice can be ordered for a more graphic surface, or none at all for a plain, glassy one, and the furls can open wider or keep close to the stem. White or grey marble can take the place of its black marble block. When it is moved, two hands go round the foot, and nobody should take hold of the scroll at the top or the rim of the fan. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Two furls in a smoky topaz, ribbed in a raised lattice over black marble, take their place with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.

Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
