Smoky Teal Folded Wing Blade Wave Resin Sculpture, 82cm, with a broad folded wing of blades on one side and a curved crook-like blade on the other, on a black base against a plain light background.
Smoky Teal Folded Wing Blade Wave Resin Sculpture - 82cm $2,56600
Description

A smoky teal, the dark blue-green of deep water under cloud, runs through every blade of this wave and settles almost to black in the long root along its base. On one side a wing of broad blades sweeps up and doubles over, trailing two points at its outer end, with a round opening beneath it; on the other a lone curved blade rises and bends over at its tip like a shepherd's crook, a cluster of pointed blades leaning out beside it. Pale highlights run along the edges, so the smoky body reads as glass.

Smoky Teal Darkening Into the Root

A dark tint gives every blade a body of its own. The smoky teal is deepest where the wing's blades overlap and darkest of all in the root, and it lightens along the thin edges, where it turns almost silver against the deeper colour behind. The crook, standing alone, shows the full range of the tint along its curve, from near-black where it leaves the root to a clear grey-green at its tip. The black slab beneath carries the near-black of the root on downwards, so piece and slab read as one dark mass rising into lighter blades.

Long and shallow, it wants a wall at its back and a long surface beneath it, a sideboard, say, or a low cabinet, with room left at each end so the crook stands clear of the wing. Its smoky colour sits well with dark timber, slate and brushed steel, and side light from a lamp or a window catches the silver edges against the deep teal. A pale wall behind keeps the outline crisp. Indoor use only.

Depth of Tint, the Crook and Delivery

A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. One wave and its black slab are supplied for the price, sold individually. As a commission the teal can be lightened to a clearer sea green or deepened towards charcoal, the crook bent tighter or opened out, and the cluster beside it given more points or fewer; the slab can be cut longer to give the piece more surface. It is laid flat in a crate for delivery, the crook and every point padded and the slab in its own wrapping; two people lift it by the long root and set it straight down on the slab. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Smoky teal blades doubling into a wing beside a curling crook take this wave into our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
