Smoked Grey & Clear Lobed Crown Resin Sculpture - 248cm
Smoked Grey & Clear Lobed Crown Resin Sculpture - 248cm $19,71300
Description

A head of rounded, interlocking lobes, like a bud about to open or a cloud gathering, rising from a tapering stem that is carried on a pedestal of black marble. The stem is a smoky grey that deepens towards its foot, and the colour clears into the lobes, which read almost colourless at the crown. The plinth is black marble, veined in white.

Rounded Lobes Rising From a Smoky Stem

The piece works by gathering: a narrow stem swells into a crowded head of lobes, each one rounded and pressed against its neighbours, so the form seems to be growing. The lobes are drawn with fine grooves between them, which lets each one be read separately and gives the head its texture. The grey is graded from the stem, where it is darkest, into the head, where it clears, so the weight of colour stays low and the crown looks light. The black marble plinth, veined in white, continues the dark stem downward.

At 248cm it suits a hall, a lobby, a reception or a large room with height, where it stands on the floor and can be seen from all round. Against a white wall the smoky stem and the clear crown read at their sharpest, and daylight from a high window lights the lobes. It suits a contemporary interior with stone and dark wood.

Smoke, Crown and the Marble Plinth

Every standard piece is made in 3–4 weeks, and every bespoke commission in 5–6. The smoke can be graded more strongly or replaced with a blue, an amber or clear throughout, and the plinth is also made in white marble, or at another height to suit the room. A clear crown on a dark stem is the strongest contrast; a single tone reads more as a study of form. The form and the plinth are crated separately, and assembling them on site takes several people and a trolley. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A crown of lobes rising from a stem belongs with our organic sculptures; smoked grey clearing into colourless resin leads to our resin sculptures, and a tall form to greet visitors in an atrium joins our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
