Smoke Grey & Purple Lobed Cast Resin Side Table - 56cm
Smoke Grey & Purple Lobed Cast Resin Side Table - 56cm $3,64300
Description

This side table is cast in tinted resin. The top is a thick round disc and under it stands a column made of four vertical lobes fused into one mass, each one rising plumb from its foot to meet the top. The colour runs from a smoke grey into a purple aubergine, translucent throughout, and the edge of the top carries a graded band with a deeper indigo lying under the grey.

Fusing Four Lobes Into One Standing Column

The column is what carries this table. Four vertical lobes stand fused into a single mass, each one rising straight and parallel to the others, and where they meet there is a narrow internal angle that stays dark from every viewing position. The colour is not flat: it runs from a smoke grey through to a purple aubergine, translucent throughout, and the edge of the thick top carries a graded band with a deeper indigo sitting under the grey. That band is only visible from the side, so the table looks grey from above and purple from a chair. The gloss is high enough for the lobes to reflect each other in the angles between them.

At 56cm this side table suits a high seat or a place beside a bed. The lobed column is what carries the piece, so it should stand clear rather than be pushed against a sofa arm where the lobes cannot be seen. It reads strongly against a pale wall and quietly against a dark one. Light from one side is what separates the grey from the purple and brings up the indigo band under the rim. Indoors only.

The Lobe Count, the Colour Band, and the Top Thickness

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. Three things are open at order. The number of lobes, from these four through to three for a more open column or six, which closes the form and reads almost as a solid drum. The colour route, which runs grey into purple as here, or a single tone throughout, or a clear body with the colour held only in the top. And the thickness of the top, from this deep disc to a thinner one that lets the column dominate. Diameter and height are each quoted to your own figures, and a pair is made together so the banding matches. It travels in one crate with the top capped, and one person can move it though two should place it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Its column of fused lobes places it among our organic sculptures; the smoke and purple casting belongs to our resin sculptures, and the table to our art furniture.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
