Smoke Grey & Clear Curling Splash Resin Sculpture, 81cm, wave-like form with a clear loop rising above a grey resin base, shown on a plain white background.
Smoke Grey & Clear Curling Splash Resin Sculpture - 81cm $2,56600
Description

Almost the whole of this splash is smoke grey resin. Its bowl and crown of jagged points, the spray that juts out on one side, the arch standing inside the bowl and the wall that sweeps up the other side before rolling into a twisted band are all one translucent grey, charcoal down in the hollow and paler where the band lifts free. Only the loop that springs from the band, with its two upright tips, is colourless, so the piece ends in a clear flourish above a body of shadow.

Smoke Grey Body Beneath a Clear Loop

Grey is an architectural tint: it adds weight without adding warmth or chill. Here it does two jobs. Down in the bowl, where several surfaces lie one behind another, it gathers into charcoal and gives the foot a dark, settled centre; up in the band it becomes a light veil, enough to separate each twisting strand from its neighbour while still letting the wall behind show through. The grey then gives way where the loop begins, gradually, with no line to mark the change, and that last clear passage stops the top from looking heavy.

Smoke grey suits rooms built on stone, concrete, black steel and pale timber, where a stronger colour would shout. At 81cm it sits well on a long sideboard or a reception desk, its clear loop rising to meet the eye of anyone standing before it. Against a white wall the grey reads as a drawing in soft charcoal; against a dark one the clear loop comes forward and the body recedes.

Depth of Grey, the Loop and How It Travels

From order, a standard piece runs to 3–4 weeks and a bespoke commission to 5–6. The grey can be ordered as a faint veil or taken nearer to charcoal, and the clear passage can begin higher, inside the loop, or sooner, part way along the band. The loop can be opened or closed and the spray extended, and the design can be scaled for a particular hall or reception. Packing is a single crate lined with foam, the loop and tips bound on their own, and it arrives whole with nothing to fit: two hands under the bowl lift it out, and the loop is never used as a handle. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Smoke grey gathered in a splash beneath one clear loop places it among our organic sculptures, darkens a corner of our resin sculptures, and brings a quiet palette to our indoor sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
