Description

A smoke grey arched upright, cast in resin. From a splayed foot the body rises and curls over into an open, scooped flare, and below it a broad plane sweeps out to one side like a sail. Black is drawn through the neck and down the edges, while the sweep below fades to a pale grey. The block beneath, in black marble, is supplied.

Smoke Grey With Black at the Neck

Grey resin with black drawn through it gives this form a drawn, charcoal quality. The black gathers where the body narrows, at the neck and along the edges of the flare and the sweep, so the outline is inked in while the broad plane below fades to a pale, misty grey. Every piece is a little different in where the black runs. The resin is polished all over to a soft gloss, and the black marble block below it repeats the dark of the neck. Seen from across a room, it reads like a charcoal sketch in three dimensions.

Put it on a broad sideboard or a plinth in a hall or a living room, or stand it on the floor, where it will be seen from across the space. It suits grey, white and stone-coloured rooms, and it sits well beside concrete, linen and dark metal. Side light brings out the black along the edges; light straight on makes it read as a soft grey silhouette. A pale wall behind it shows the drawing best.

More Black, Less Smoke, and Delivery

Lead times run 5–6 weeks bespoke and 3–4 standard. The black can reach deeper into the body or stay at the neck, while the grey can be deepened towards charcoal or lightened almost to clear. The block can be cut in white marble for contrast. Amber and brown-inked clear versions of the same upright are sold on their own. One crate holds casting and block; set the block in position, then bring the casting down onto it, holding the standing body rather than the flare. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
