Description

A fanned shell in smoke-black resin, dark and glossy, with flecks of gold caught through the body. It rises from a slim stem and spreads into a broad fan, its spiked crest leaning sideways, and it is pierced four times below the middle. Black marble comes with it as its base.

Smoke Black Fan with a Spiked Rim

In smoke black the fan becomes a silhouette. Along the rim, each spike shows grey against the black body where the light catches it, and the four openings stand out as bright holes. The gold flecks, sparse and small, show as points of warmth in the dark, more like embers than leaf. The glossy surface picks up every rib of the fan, so the whole shell is drawn in highlights over black, a single dark shape with a bright edge. No two castings carry the smoke alike.

Its 63cm sits well on a broad sideboard against a pale wall, which is what a dark silhouette needs. Warm light picks out the gold, and side light raises the gloss on the ribs. Give the swept crest space on its open side, and keep the low side toward the wall. It reads strongly from across a room.

Darker, Clearer, and Delivery

Whether it is standard or bespoke sets the build: 3–4 weeks or 5–6. The smoke can be taken almost to black or eased to a translucent grey, and the gold can be left out or thickened. A teal or an amber can be mixed into the smoke for a coloured dark piece, and the openings can be cut wider. The base comes in black as standard, or in a paler stone. It travels bedded in foam with the marble packed apart, and the solid body below the spikes is the part to hold. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
