Sky Blue Broad Band Cast Resin Armchair - 72cm
Sky Blue Broad Band Cast Resin Armchair - 72cm $4,45200
Description

Sky blue resin makes up this armchair, pale and glassy, so the floor shows faintly through it. Its back is a deep curved band that sweeps round at each side into an arm and then falls to the floor as a front leg. A thin flat seat spans the gap between the arms, and beneath it two flat rear legs meet the front ones through runners that lie along the floor.

Sky Blue Glass-Like Band From Back to Floor

Pale as the sky blue is, it gathers strength wherever the resin doubles. At the two front corners, where the band turns from back to arm, it deepens to a strong cobalt, while the broad face of the back stays pale and holds long reflections across its curve. The seat panel is thin, so it reads as a pale plane floating between the arms. Below, the base is drawn in clean lines, the front legs and the straight rear legs joined at the floor by a runner on each side, with nothing crossing the front.

Its seat comes at dining height, so the chair suits the end of a dining table, a writing desk or a bedroom corner, though its arms are too high to slide under a table apron. The pale blue sits well with white walls, grey stone and light oak, and against a plain wall the deeper blue corners draw the chair's outline clearly. Indoor use only.

The Blue, the Band and How It Travels

Most pieces are standard and take 3–4 weeks; a bespoke commission takes 5–6. The blue can be deepened towards cornflower or kept as pale as glass, and the band can be made narrower so a gap opens beneath the back. The base can keep its floor runners or rest on four legs standing free. A run of chairs is tinted from one batch of resin so the blues agree. Seat height is set to your table. It ships finished in a crate of its own, and one carrier can manage it. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.

A sky blue band shaped into an armchair joins our art furniture; the glassy tint belongs with our resin sculptures, and the sweeping curve with our organic sculptures.

Shipping & Returns

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.

Production Time

Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.

  • Standard sculptures: approximately 3–4 weeks from order confirmation.
  • Bespoke commissions (custom sizes, finishes, or fully custom designs): approximately 5–6 weeks from design sign-off.

Production time is separate from delivery time.

Free Worldwide Shipping

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.

Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.

All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.

Delivery to Your Address

Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.

Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.

International Orders & Customs

For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.

If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.

Returns

Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.

To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.

Damage in Transit

Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:

  1. Report the damage within 48 hours of delivery.
  2. Provide clear photographs of both the damage and the packaging.
  3. We arrange collection and either replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Lifetime Guarantee

Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.

This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
