Cast in resin and stepped in fine layers, this sculpture is a long, shallow lens: from a long, fine point at one end it rises to a ridge about two thirds of the way along, then falls away in a short taper to the other end. Where it meets its black marble block the lens pulls in to a short waisted stem, much narrower than the mass above it, so the whole lens appears to float clear of the stone. The body is sea green through its depth, deepening to a bottle green in the stem, and the top edges are clear.
The waist is the whole piece. The lens is carried on a stem only a fraction of its own width, and the stem is kept short, so the lens sits close over the stone rather than hovering above it. Its layers step in towards the marble just as the lens's own layers step out towards the ridge and the long point, so the stem reads as part of the same run of layers rather than as a post added beneath it. The colour follows the form: the stem is the deepest green in the piece, the body a sea green, and the outer layers clear almost to nothing at the top edges and along the long point.
This is a long horizontal piece for a long horizontal run: a console, a sideboard or the top of a wide cabinet, with air at both ends. It has a front. The ridge sits off centre, so the piece reads differently approached from the left than from the right, so which way round it faces is a decision worth making before it goes down. Behind it, plain is better. The upper layers are almost colourless and anything patterned reads straight through them, which breaks the profile up. Light raking along the length from one end edge-lights every layer.
A standard piece takes 3–4 weeks to make, and a bespoke commission 5–6. The length, the ridge and the depth of the stem are agreed for each piece, and the lens can be drawn out further along a console or given a centred ridge for a symmetrical reading. The tint is chosen at order: this sea green, a blue, an amber for a dark room, or no tint at all. The stone under it can be black marble as here, a pale limestone or a steel plate. It is taken by the body of the lens, with a hand under the waist, and never by the long point. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
A sea-green lens tapering to a fine point and carried on a short, waisted stem belongs to our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our contemporary and modern sculptures.

Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
