Sapphire blue fills this petal shell from crest to lip, and it is deepest round the edges, where the lip and the outward-flicked arm tips turn nearly navy. In the seat a cloud of black-blue ink rises from the lowest point and frays into fine tendrils across the inner back. Paler streaks of bright blue climb through the crest. The shell turns on a black column over a broad black disc.
Blue resin behaves like water: thin, it is bright and clear, and in depth it closes towards ink. Across the upper back the tint stays luminous and the vertical folds of the lobes show as paler ridges, while at the curling edges and the lip the colour piles up into a dark sapphire. The black cloud in the seat hangs in the resin with soft, smoky margins rather than a hard outline, densest at the bottom and thinning as it climbs. Against the black pedestal the blue shell appears to float, and the gloss of the resin catches every window in the room.
Pulled up to a desk, its back, 80cm at the crest, gives a seated reader something to lean into. It belongs in a room of white and navy, or against bare plaster, where the blue is free to be the strongest colour present. A window to one side shows off the luminous crest, and the black base fades into a dark floor. Indoor use only.
Reckon on 3–4 weeks for a standard piece, or 5–6 weeks for a bespoke one. The sapphire can be ordered lighter, towards cornflower, or deeper towards midnight, and the ink cloud can be kept low or allowed to reach the crest. The black column and disc can be swapped for chrome or brass, with a gas lift as an option for an adjustable seat. Shell size and the height of the column are settled when the order is placed. It is delivered as shell and base in two crates, fixed together on site. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Blue-tinted swivel seating belongs to our art furniture; the black-finished column connects to our metal sculptures, and the opening-petal form fits our organic sculptures.

Almost every sculpture at Giant Sculptures is handmade to order, then shipped worldwide free of charge. Below is everything you need to know before you order, and what to expect after.
Almost every sculpture is handmade to order by our artisans — we do not mass-produce.
Production time is separate from delivery time.
Shipping is free worldwide on every sculpture, regardless of size or destination. Standard delivery is by sea freight, typically 6–8 weeks after production is complete.
Express air freight is available on request at additional cost, with delivery in up to 10 days. Ask us before placing your order, or straight after, and we will confirm the cost for your destination.
All sculptures ship in reinforced protective crating, fully insured to purchase value.
Delivery is to the door or curbside at your shipping address.
For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For orders shipping outside the United Kingdom, any customs duties, import taxes, or local fees at your destination country are the responsibility of the customer. These charges are set by your local authority and are not included in our shipping cost.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
