The Saint George Slaying the Dragon Bronze Statue stands at an imposing 300cm, presenting the warrior saint in full plate armour, mounted on a dramatically rearing horse and driving his lance downward into a writhing dragon crushed beneath iron-shod hooves. The composition rises on a sweeping diagonal, every surface alive with detail: pauldrons, gauntlets, bridle fittings and scaled dragon hide rendered with the precision of a master foundry.
This piece is cast using the traditional lost-wax process, which captures the finest relief detail across the full plate armour, the dragon's clawed body and the horse's taut musculature. Each casting is hand-finished and hand-chased by our bronze artisans before a dark brown patina is applied, building depth through layered chemical treatment and hand-burnishing on the raised surfaces. The result is the warm tonal contrast characteristic of gallery-grade bronze sculpture: rich shadow in the recesses, luminous bronze at every crest and edge.
At 300cm and 800kg, this is a monument-scale commission suited to grand exterior settings: church grounds, formal estate forecourts, institutional plazas, civic gardens and hotel arrival courts. It reads with equal authority indoors in double-height atria, vaulted entrance halls or dedicated sculpture galleries. The classical dark patina sits comfortably against stone, brick, polished marble and aged timber alike.
We offer a full range of patina options including verdigris, antique green, gold highlight and natural weathering finishes. The sculpture can also be produced at alternative heights to suit your specific site. We welcome detailed briefs for fully bespoke figurative commissions; contact us before ordering to discuss scale, finish and installation requirements.
