Deep ruby red resin, glossy and translucent, forms this cleft cradle. Its long belly dips between two unequal ends, a low cupped tip and, facing it, a high wall whose top folds back over the hollow in a broad lip. Crinkled gold-toned flakes line the inside of both ends, broken here and there by flashes of red and a few smoky patches, and seen through the outer wall they turn the belly a mottled red-gold. Every rim darkens almost to black. No stand comes with it; the cradle sits on a short flat beneath its belly.
Red and gold divide the work here: the ruby holds the outer wall and the gold-toned flakes line the inner faces, so which colour leads depends on where you stand. Approached from the open side, both ends flash gold, while the outer wall stays a deep, glassy red with every rim drawn in near-black. The flakes are crinkled and broken rather than laid flat, so the gold catches the light in uneven patches and the red glints between them like embers. Across the belly the two colours mix into a mottled red-gold. Because one end stays low and cupped while the opposite one climbs to its folded lip, the piece reads in a single direction, and the high wall holds its gold in one broad sweep on the side that faces the hollow.
Its open side should face the room, so a console, a credenza or a generous desk suits it, since the gold lining is seen at its best from the front. Side light from a lamp catches the crinkled flakes patch by patch, and daylight from behind turns the outer wall a glowing ruby. A plain pale wall keeps the red deep and the near-black rims crisp, while dark timber makes the whole piece read warmer and older. Leave space at either end, so that the cupped tip and the curled lip both stay in view.
Expect 3–4 weeks for a standard piece and 5–6 weeks where the commission is bespoke. Made to commission, the ruby can be deepened towards garnet or brightened towards cherry, and the gold-toned flakes laid more sparsely, or left out so that the inside is red as well. A frosted surface can replace the gloss, softening the ruby to a velvet red, and the cradle can be made at another width with its two ends kept in proportion. A fitted crate carries it, bedded under the belly with the curled lip padded, and on arrival it comes out cradled in both hands beneath the belly, never held by the lip or the tip. Our main studios are in the UK (Birmingham) and Dubai, with additional global workshops.
Ruby red outside and lined with crinkled gold-toned flakes inside, this cleft cradle sits with our organic sculptures, our resin sculptures and our indoor sculptures.

For larger sculptures shipped by sea freight, the carrier will contact you in advance to arrange a delivery window. Please ensure someone is available to accept the delivery and that the property has suitable access for the size of the piece.
Once the sculpture arrives, you are responsible for positioning it in its final display location. For larger or heavier pieces, we recommend arranging two people (family, friends, or a local moving service) to help with placement.
For all orders delivered worldwide, all customs duties, import taxes, and applicable local clearance fees are fully included in the purchase price. We manage and settle these charges on your behalf, ensuring you will not incur any additional fees upon arrival.
Please note that this policy excludes shipments delivered to Switzerland, as well as any individual orders where an exclusion is explicitly stated prior to purchase; in such instances, local customs charges and import taxes remain the responsibility of the customer.
If you have questions about customs for your specific country, contact us before ordering and we can advise on typical charges for your region.
Where an order qualifies, we accept returns within 14 days of receipt, in original condition and original packaging, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
Because our sculptures are made individually, most orders do not qualify. Returns do not apply to any item that is not held in stock, is made to order, or is custom or bespoke.
To check whether your order qualifies, contact us within 14 days of receipt. On a qualifying return, return shipping is at the customer's cost, a 25% restocking fee applies, and original shipping charges are not refunded.
Every sculpture ships fully insured. In the unlikely event of damage during transit:
Every sculpture carries a lifetime guarantee against finish defects under normal display conditions, subject to our Terms & Conditions.
This covers manufacturing defects, premature finish degradation, and structural failures under normal display. It does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, inappropriate environments (for example, an indoor-only sculpture placed outdoors), or modifications made after delivery.
If you have questions about shipping, customs, delivery timing, or anything else before you order, our team is here to help. Contact us via WhatsApp, email, or phone, and we'll respond within 24 hours.
